Glenn & Jan Self

Glenn Self

Founder & President

Glenn Self is the founder and President of Self Services, Inc. and Elite Homes, and the original force behind the company's legacy of craftsmanship. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1968-1971, Glenn worked in plumbing and remodeling before joining the Lubbock Fire Department, where he served from 1979-1984 while continuing to build on his days off.

In 1978, alongside his wife Jan, he began what would grow into Elite Homes – personally framing, trimming and finishing homes with a hands-on approach that set the standard for quality and detail. Today, Glenn continues to approach work with the same commitment to integrity, family and client satisfaction that has defined the company from the beginning.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, remodeling projects, an occasional travel adventure, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jan Self

Co-Founder

Jan Self is the Co-Founder of Self Services, Inc. and Elite Homes where she has been an integral part of the company's journey since its beginning in 1978. Alongside her husband, Glenn, Jan helped lay the foundation for what would become one of West Texas's most respected design-build firms.

In those early years, she worked side-by-side with Glenn on remodeling and construction projects. Prior to this, Jan built a career as a Regional Account Manager, supporting builders and apartment communities throughout West Texas. When she and Glenn began Elite and Self Services, Jan's hands-on involvement and eye for detail became central to the company's reputation for quality.

Jan is continually amazed by the projects delivered, often saying that each new build feels like her favorite. She finds joy in seeing unique designs and innovative products come to life, and she values the loyalty of the subcontractors who have partnered with Self Services over the decades.

Outside of work, Jan enjoys cooking, sewing, spending time with her family, and occasionally playing golf. She is proud of the legacy she and Glenn began together.
